The kitchen at the Posada is a meeting place for those who work there and our guests, being the wood stove the heart of the room. The stove is of molten iron and built at Pirque Foundry, series Patagonia; its large and powerful oven is where the bread is made every day and meals are prepared. We encourage our guests to witness or even participate in the preparation of the dishes

But the soul of the kitchen is our Chef Juan Muñoz. Chef Juan is originally from the Tac Island in Chiloe and his cuisine is a mixture of knowledge inherited from his culture to which he adds new flavors acquired while working for so many years at the Posada and meeting so many guests from different parts of the world.

Juanito has served thousands of customers, and always manages to enchant the guests with his creations based on natural products from the region

Some of his amazing dishes are: short plate prepared in clay dish and wood oven, Queulat conger eel, hake ceviche and fresh trout ceviche, sea food broth, Chilean empanada, fresh home made bread, southern hake, Chancho en Piedra (Chilean salsa recipe), sopaipillas (pumpkin fritter), crab cake, smoked salmon, different salads from the Chef organic garden.

Both breakfast and dinner at the Posada are plentiful and very difficult to resist, so our recommendation is to have an active day doing the excursions offered by both the Posada and Queulat Park, to then being able to enjoy all Juanito´s delicacies.

For our guests with special meal requirements, we can satisfy almost all your requests (vegetarian, vegan …). We only need to be notified at least 48 hours in advance.

It is difficult to measure one self when eating at the Posada since plates are quite generous and prepared with much love. As we say, it is good to do many excursions during the day, arrive very tire, relax in the hot tub to finally enjoy dinner
